Japanese Word of the Day for June 30th, 2009


Today’s Word: すいか(すいか)Watermelon. すいかわり is a popular summertime game in which the goal is to smash a watermelon while blindfolded.

Today’s Word: 波乗り(なみのり)Surfing. While many people just say サーフィン, the Japanese word is much cooler: 波乗り literally means “riding the wave.”
