The Manga University Home Study Course is designed for students of all ages and skill levels who want to get better at drawing manga. This six-week class is done on an individual basis, and can be taken any time, anywhere. Best of all, it's only $49.99!

The course includes:
  • A USB memory stick loaded with 6 fun, easy-to-follow weekly manga drawing lessons — 21 pages in all!
  • A Tachikawa all-in-one manga pen with three ink cartridges
  • An I-C brand professional artist's sketchbook

  • A 3-page personalized critique and re-drawing of your artwork by one of Manga University's professional Japanese manga artists

Once a week for six weeks, students will complete a multipage, printable PDF featuring a lesson plan developed by Manga University instructors to teach the basics of manga drawing techniques and character design.

Our teaching staff includes award-winning artists Chihiro Hattori (Kana de Manga, Kanji de Manga and The Manga Cookbook), Atsuhisa Okura (Moe USA and 50 Things We Love About Japan), Yakuta Ryuu (MU How to Draw Manga video series) and several more. All of our artists work in a variety of manga styles, and enjoy teaching aspiring artists of all ages and skill levels.

Students must have the following to participate in this course:
  • A computer with a USB port
  • An email account
  • The ability to scan and send images to us via email
  • A desire to draw manga and have fun!
We will send you your lessons and art supplies upon receiving your enrollment fee. Please note that the Home Study Course enrollment fee is nonrefundable. Also, the course is designed for students who have never taken a Manga University course before. If you were enrolled in one of our previous courses, and wish to continue your studies with us, please contact us for advanced-learning opportunities.

The Manga University Art Critique is the ideal choice for anyone who wants to have their manga illustrations looked at and critiqued by the professional artists at Manga University.

This is the most efficient way to have your drawings analyzed by experts who know what it takes to turn even the roughest of sketches into polished works of art!

The Manga University Art Critique includes:
  • A 1-page written critique highlighting what you're doing right, telling you where you need to improve — and tips for improving!
  • A 2-page "report card" grading your illustration in six important areas, along with detailed explanations of each
  • A personalized Manga University Certificate of Participation (sent via email as a high-resolution JPEG suitable for printing and framing)
Upon receiving your payment, we will send you an email with instructions on how to submit your artwork to us. Your critique will be completed within 7 business days from the date of our receipt of your artwork.
